We specialise in astral magick, which basically means the rules we like to follow come from using the movements of the planets and where they are in the sky at any given moment.

In astrology, it is believed that the planets have a direct effect on the human psyche and that each planet possesses its own characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. Astral magick is based on astrology. It uses the characteristics and strengths of the planets that come from astrology as a source of power. As a result, each planet has its own set of positive and negative uses in magickal practices. To understand how each planet can be used for magick, it’s important to first learn about their individual meanings.

We previously posted about using Mars and Saturn and Jupiter and Venus in a magickal context. This week we will briefly introduce you to the Outer Planets – Uranus, Neptune and Pluto – as they relate to magick.

The outer planets

Whatever is going on with the outer planets of our Solar System – Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto –  often goes unnoticed in our everyday lives, but they hold a special power in the magickal world. These mysterious giants can bring about deep and powerful transformations, and can be used to unlock our hidden potential. By taking time to understand the unique nature of each planet, and learning how to use them in magick, we can open ourselves up to a myriad of possibilities and opportunities. With the right knowledge, we can use the power of the outer planets to create positive changes in our lives, and manifest our deepest desires.

Unlocking the power of the outer planets

The key to using the outer planets in magick is to understand what makes them unique, and to understand their individual characteristics. By understanding the unique nature of each planet, and their attributes, we can begin to access their power and bring forth profound changes in our lives. In this section, we will cover the key characteristics of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, and explore how these characteristics can be used in magick.

Uranus is the planet of revolution, with freedom, self-expression, and innovation at its core. It is associated with the instinctive side of humanity, and can help generate new and unconventional ideas and ways of thinking. It is associated with being original and unique, and can be useful in bringing changes in all aspects of our lives. However, this revolution can also bring about significant upheaval and upheaval in our lives.

On the other hand, Neptune is associated with emotions, intuition, and the subconscious. Neptune being the planet of illusion means it is the most mysterious planet in our Solar System. It is also the most emotionally-charged planet, and can connect magickally with change in the areas of emotions and intuition through its associations with the collective unconscious and our deepest spiritual, mystical, or psychic insights. However, the illusions of Neptune can also be very powerful, be mindful of rose tinted spectacles!

Pluto is the last and most distant planet in our Solar System (yes, magickally speaking it is still a planet for us!) and is associated with power, transformation, and the underworld. The fact that Pluto has been hidden from us until relatively recently is pulled into its magickal associations. Pluto operates in the space where secrets are revealed.

How to use Uranus in magick

Uranus has associations with change and revolution, but can also leave you without a solid foundation. Uranus rules the star sign Aquarius which means its characteristics of shaking things up are strongest working with the Aquarius characteristic of renewal. Working with Uranus could be useful in magick aimed at breaking free of the restrictions that hold you back in your everyday life, and in your mind.

How to use Neptune in magick

Neptune has associations with intuition and spirituality, but also with illusion and dreams. It rules Pisces, which means Neptune’s characteristic of emotion works well with the Pisces characteristics of compassion and spirituality. Working with Neptune could be useful in magick aimed at building empathy and understanding the dream world.

How to use Pluto in magick

Pluto is the final planet in the solar system and as such it has associations with endings and cycles completing. Pluto rules in Scorpio, and this means that Pluto’s characteristics of transformation and revelation are strongest when teamed up with Scorpio’s darker traits of power and death. In a magickal context, the power of Pluto is useful in revealing what is hidden and transformation work.

Things to remember when working with the outer planets

When working with the outer planets, it’s important to be respectful of their power. The characteristics and associations of revolution, illusion and transformation where the outer planets are strongest can be powerful forces. These energies can leave you feeling slightly disconnected from your everyday life by opening you up to new ways of thinking. For example, by looking to dive deeper into your own personal power, or work with the power of the collective consciousness, the outer planets will help you to do so as long as you’re ready for what this can reveal!
