Guided Meditation: Challenging Negative Thoughts

Sometimes negative thoughts are helpful, they can help keep us safe, help us learn from our mistakes and help us solve problems. Sometimes negative thoughts are less helpful. The fact that we may believe something to be true does not necessarily mean that it is, and if you experience thoughts that are so negative that you feel bad about yourself then these can be challenged for their evidence and validity.

Here we have some pointers on how to meditate.

Meditation practice can produce unwanted effects in people who might be more sensitive. We encourage anyone who is unsure about practising meditative techniques to seek appropriate professional support before experimenting with meditation.
