In the realm of mystical practises, humanistic magick holds a unique allure for us. With its emphasis on using principles found in humanistic counselling for personal growth and self-discovery it offers a captivating path to harness our inner power. Delving into the inner workings of humanistic magick unveils a world of transformative possibilities that can empower us to create meaningful change in our lives. At its core, humanistic magick is a practise rooted in the belief that we are the creators, and that our thoughts and intentions have the power to shape our reality. This might be overlaid with other beliefs and other magickal rules, but essentially the most important aspect is us, the human person. By tapping into our subconscious mind, we can unlock our innate potential and influence the course of events.

This article explores the intricate workings of humanistic magick, shedding light on its underlying principles and techniques. We will delve into the power of visualisation, affirmations and energy manipulation. We will examine the importance of self-reflection, mindfulness, and ethical considerations in the practise of humanistic magick. Prepare to embark on a captivating journey of self-discovery and personal transformation as we unravel the mysteries of humanistic magick and unlock the magickal potential that lies within us all.

The Principles of Humanistic Magick

Humanistic magick is grounded in the principles found in humanistic counselling that serve as the foundation for our practise. At its core, humanistic magick recognises the interconnectedness of all things and the power of the individual to shape their reality, whether this is for personal growth or attracting abundance. It is magick that embraces the idea that we have the power to manifest our desires and create positive change in our lives through focused intention and, if you wish, energy manipulation.

One of the key principles of humanistic magick is the belief in the power of the self. This could be through working via the subconscious mind. For example, through accessing and harnessing the subconscious in order to tap into our true potential and bring about transformation. The subconscious mind is the storehouse of our beliefs, desires, and emotions, and sometimes in order to bring about change, we might need to reprogram our thoughts and beliefs in order to align with our intentions.

Another principle of our humanistic magick is in the magickal rules we use. Otherwise it would just be counselling. So for us, we use magickal rules that come from astral magick. This means using the planets, star signs and other astrological rules as the driving force behind all the magickal work and manifestations. This involves learning the characteristics and correspondences magickally speaking to amplify our personal power, our intentions in order to manifest our desires.

Exploring the Subconscious Mind in Humanistic Magick

We mentioned that the subconscious mind plays a vital role in the practise of humanistic magick. It is about achieving your full potential as a human being. Unlocking this through magickal practise is about understanding and working with the subconscious through magick. You will find that the majority of our spells, guided meditations and how we work with tarot and Lenormand is all so that we can reprogram our beliefs, release limiting patterns, and align ourselves with our intentions.

So for example, one powerful technique for accessing the subconscious mind is through guided meditation. Those who subscribe to our website can look forward every Friday to an opportunity to quiet the conscious mind and enter a deep state of relaxation to focus on solving an issue, understanding the self and progressing with self development. Through guided meditation we can bypass the critical filter of the conscious mind and access the deeper layers of our awareness. This allows us to connect with our subconscious to understand ourselves a little more. We can also do this to plant positive suggestions and intentions that will manifest in our lives.

Journaling, free writing and divination are also powerful, magickal, tools for exploring the subconscious mind. By regularly journaling our thoughts, emotions, and experiences, we can gain insight into our subconscious patterns and beliefs. This self-awareness allows us to identify and release any limiting beliefs or negative thought patterns that may be holding us back from manifesting our desires.

Incorporating Visualisation Techniques in Humanistic Magick

Visualisation is a powerful technique that allows us to create a detailed mental image of our desired outcome. Now, this is not exclusive to humanistic magick of course. In fact, visualisation as a technique is so fabulous that it is well utilised in sports and business. The idea is that by vividly imagining ourselves already in possession of what we desire, we can align our energy with that reality and attract it into our lives. Sounds pretty magickal, which is why we love it as part of our humanistic magick approach.

To incorporate visualisation techniques into our humanistic magick practise, it is important to create a quiet and focused space where we can fully immerse ourselves in the visualisation process. Begin by finding a comfortable position and taking a few deep breaths to shush the mind and concentrate on creating a picture. Close your eyes and bring your attention to your breath, allowing any thoughts or distractions to gently fade away.

Once you feel centred and focused, begin to visualise your desired outcome. Imagine it as vividly as possible, using all of your senses to create a detailed mental image. See yourself in possession of what you desire, feel the emotions associated with it, and hear any sounds or voices that may accompany it. Allow yourself to fully immerse in the experience, suspending any disbelief or doubt.

As you continue to visualise, hold the intention that what you are imagining is already manifesting in your life. Feel the gratitude and joy that comes with knowing that your desires are on their way to you. Trust that the universe is working in your favour and that your visualisations are creating a powerful energetic magnet that will attract your desires into your reality.

Using Affirmations and Positive Affirmations in Humanistic Magick

As well as guided meditation and visualisation, affirmations are also used as part of our humanistic magick approach in order to reprogram the subconscious mind and align our thoughts and beliefs with our desires. Affirmations are positive statements and by repeating affirmations regularly, we can replace negative thought patterns with positive ones and create a powerful energetic shift within ourselves. Remember, that humanistic magick is all about the power that is right there inside you.

When using affirmations in humanistic magick, it is important to choose affirmations that are aligned with our intentions and desires. If we want to shift limiting beliefs or negative thought patterns that are holding us back from personal growth, we should create positive affirmations that counteract these beliefs and reinforce the reality you wish to create.

Similarly, if you are working on manifesting abundance, you might create affirmations such as “I am worthy of abundance” or “Money flows to me easily and effortlessly.” Whatever the reality you’re trying to shift towards, repeating the affirmations daily, either silently or out loud, and visualising yourself already experiencing the desired outcome is key. Don’t forget to allow yourself to feel the emotions associated with your desired outcome, you’ve got to truly believe that what you are affirming is already manifesting in your life.

Rules and Spells in Humanistic Magick

The magickal rules you follow and the casting of spells are of course an integral part of humanistic magick. The rules provide a structure and framework for the magickal work. For us it is astral magick, for other practitioners it might be about deities, or the rules from a magickal religion like Wicca.

Casting spells is an important aspect of humanistic magick because this is what makes the practise magickal rather than only an exploration of personal development. We use spells as a mini ritual that is performed to fulfil a specific intention in mind. This might be about building self confidence, increasing abundance or improving our relationships in some way. Our spells typically involve some need on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs as a guiding principle behind our humanistic magick approach.

Ethical Considerations in Humanistic Magick

Ethics play a crucial role in the practise of humanistic magick. It is important to approach magick with a sense of responsibility, respect, and integrity. One of the key ethical considerations in humanistic magick is the principle of consent. This means that we must not intentionally practise magick for others or about other people without their consent. This includes seeking consent before performing spells or rituals that involve other individuals or their energy. Respecting the autonomy and free will of others is crucial in maintaining ethical integrity in humanistic magick.

Another crucial ethical consideration with humanistic magick is the conscious uncoupling of western magick from culturally appropriated spiritual practises. We have tried to acknowledge where our magickal rules come from, and we have tried to leave behind the practises that have not been shared openly. This remains a controversial subject, and we encourage others to at least look at the magickal rules they are following and make an informed decision about their continued use.
