Before Getting Started With Herbal Teas

Herbal remedies have long been used as a natural way to promote wellbeing. If you plan to make herbal remedies and herbal teas a regular part of your wellness routine, as ever please do consult your regular doctor before you start.

This is super important if you are currently taking medications, including contraceptives, as some herbs can interfere with your safe use of certain medicines.

It is essential to only use of herbs that have been properly licenced, and validated as safe. This is because you need to know what you’re consuming by way of side effects and allergy information. We only use food grade ingredients when making herbal remedies.

Do Herbal Remedies Work?

Most scientists agree that more evidence is needed for the efficacy of herbal remedies, but some studies suggest that certain herbs and spices can have various health related benefits.

When we use herbal remedies, we are choosing to embrace the long history of their use rather than their scientifically proven efficacy. As well as the rather magickal feelings that come with brewing up a wonderful tea made of herbs and spices.

A Brain Boosting Herbal Tea

We are not licensed herbal practitioners so please use this recipe with all the usual cautions and caveats, and as explained above please consult with your own doctor before trying it.

In this recipe, we will be combining two powerful herbs – Rosemary and Peppermint. There is some evidence that both of these herbs can have memory boosting abilities and benefits.

Ingredients:

– Handful of Rosemary leaves

– Handful of Peppermint leaves

– 3 cups of water

– 1 Pan

Method:

1. Start by adding the herbs to pan of water.

2. Gently stir the herbs together using a spoon, as you bring the water to a boil.

3. Take as much opportunity as you can to deep breath the aromas of the combined herbs.

4. Add any honey for flavour (we prefer to leave the leaves as they are!)

5. Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and let it cool a little.

6. Once the tea has cooled enough for you to drink it, ladle the liquid into a cup, leaving the remaining solid bits in the pan.

We would recommended this refreshing brain boost is enjoyed in the mornings to really kick start your day.
