Magickal Inspiration: Nature For Wellbeing

The Importance of Nature for Wellbeing

There is so much research available on why humans love nature and why it is important to us, and studies show physical activity in natural environments may be better for our body than activity elsewhere.

We love to celebrate the natural environment by observing the lunar cycle, solar cycle with the annual cycles of the seasons and the movement of the stars. For us, this celebration is less about worshipping deities and more about getting out in nature for our wellbeing.

The Connection Between Magick and Nature for Wellbeing

Magick is incredibly accessible, and we can find magick in nature by spending time watching a beautiful sunset, standing under a giant tree or gazing at the stars.

All of this reminds us we are a small part of something much bigger than ourselves, which in turn can encourage more feelings of gratitude. It is in the feeling of positive emotions that is important in a magickal sense.

Top 5 Tips for Embracing the Magick of Nature for Wellbeing

Try something new: Whether it’s exploring somewhere new, learning a new skill outdoors, or going on a weekend trip, embrace your adventurous spirit and step out of your usual routine.

Remove garden clutter: This season (certainly in the Northern Hemisphere) is a great time to declutter your garden and get it ready for the spring. Clean up and organise your outside space, and let go of any mental clutter from the past year.

Explore your passions outside: Use the magick of nature to explore your passions and spend time on your hobbies and creative outlets outside. Whether it’s painting outdoors, writing under a tree somewhere, or dancing like nobody’s watching, let yourself run wild outdoors and connect with your passion for nature.

Spend time with others: If you prefer a bit of teamwork, you can expend your energy on team sports or team outdoor activities. This can help you expand your network as you enjoy the magick of nature. If you’re not sporty, you can look for volunteer opportunities at a local park or find ways to support outdoors causes that are important to you. Giving back not only helps others, but it can also bring a sense of fulfillment and purpose to your life.

Just sit and be: If you prefer a bit of alone time, the great outdoors is perfect to connect with yourself. Whether it’s taking a walk in the park on your own, spending time by the ocean, or even just sitting outside and breathing in the fresh air, you can connect with nature one to one.  So take a few moments each day to ground yourself and focus on the present. This can help reduce anxiety and bring a sense of calm to your daily life.
