How to Use Astral Magick to Make Desired Change Happen

Our humanistic magick philosophy relies on some form of magickal expression, or “art” of affecting intended change through an unseen cause. For us, this magickal expression is astral magick. This means a lot of what you will read about through our newsletters, and what we teach through Magick Discovered, comes from using the characteristics of the planets and astrology to make desired change happen.

It’s not the only form of magickal or spiritual expression of course, and there are many aspects of your own spiritual beliefs that work for you in the same ways. For some, this is prayer. For others it is quiet meditation and so on.

We believe that all forms of spirituality (and therefore magick) can help express, and externalise, goal achievement and help make positive change in our lives.

We combine spiritual approaches with psychological theories on human motivation, and this means using “magick” as a holistic approach to wellbeing. This is what we call Humanistic Magick and yes, we believe magick does work for making desired change happen.

Using the moon is something that a lot of magickal practitioners do. The moon is a powerful symbol. Thinking about timing desired change with the moon can bring about a deeper spiritual connection to your intentions.

New moons are used in magickal practice associated with beginnings and starting projects.

Waxing moons are useful for magick about increasing things and building on ideas.

Waning moons are useful for magick all about releasing and closing things down.

Full moons can be a time of celebration and are considered to be when the moon is at its most powerful.

Thinking about the moon is important part of How to Use Astral Magick to Make Desired Change

Astrology teaches us that the Moon, when it is travelling along in front of the signs of the Zodiac, can also be used to time certain changes for maximum impact.

The moon in Aries can be a good time to make changes connected to leadership, moving on and self reflection, perhaps bringing more awareness to feelings of impulsivity or decisiveness.

You can start a project or piece of work when the moon is in Taurus, as this can mean patience, hard work and diligence are then well rewarded.

With the moon in Gemini, this can be a good time to focus on planning and researching or collaborating with others and social gatherings.

If you need to bring clarity to issues through your own intuition, or perhaps become comfortable on your own, start this work when the moon is in Cancer.

If you want to be noticed, launching your products or your work when the moon is in Leo can put creative all your achievements in the spotlight.

If you want more structure, focus your goals and intentions when the moon is in Virgo in order to strengthen routines and bring awareness to finer details.

The moon in Libra can be a good time for bringing support to your relationships and work partnerships.

To bring awareness to any of your strong, passionate emotions start this reflective work when the moon is in Scorpio.

If you’re starting a new adventure, either a new work project or travelling somewhere, you undertake some gratitude practise when the moon is in Sagittarius.

If you need to take responsibility, do some shadow work when the moon is in Capricorn to align yourself authentically with sticking to the rules and making serious plans.

The moon in Aquarius can be good if you want to flex your independence or undertake some study where an injection of new thinking is needed.

A good time for developing your spiritual side is when the moon is in Pisces. This can bring about empathy and the use of intuition to situations.

As we have mentioned, using astrology in combination with psychological theory is something we specialise in.

The astrology has been inspired by a centuries old magickal text called the Picatrix and we use this to map and inform satisfaction across all aspects of the human experience in order to make desired changes in the right areas of life.

Aesthetically, culturally and psychologically colour affects us. Carl Jung wrote about colour symbolism and this work has real-world applications today. This all means that when you choose coloured candles for any of the work you want to do, you should choose candles where the colour means something to you.

We have some virtual candles for you to use. We choose to use coloured candles in meditation practise that overlay the colours of the light spectrum with various aspects of personal development and change.
